Our mission is to provide cremation services in a respectful and dignified manner.
Christina (Tina) Copland Butler, age 59, of Maryville TN passed away Tuesday, December 12th, 2022 in hospice care at Asbury Place. Diagnosed in July with a rare, aggressive, squamous cell cancer, Tina agreed to very aggressive treatment and fought stoically to the end. Throughout her last day she appeared pain free, had many visits from friends and family, enjoyed some music and laughter, and was surrounded by love and family.
Her professional career was spent working for children and families as a forensic interviewer. She protected, advocated, and fought for those too young or unable to do it themselves. She dedicated herself to New Hope: Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center, whose mission is to restore hope to abused or traumatized children and their families.
Tina is preceded in death by her father, James Copland and is survived by her son (Michael Copland-Butler), daughter (True Millard), brother, sister-In-Law (Tim & Susannah Copland), and mother (Janet Copland) and of course, the family dog, Kane.
The family humbly acknowledges with profound gratitude the assistance and generosity of Tina’s friends and colleagues from New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center who have eased our burden. They loved Tina dearly, and she loved them right back.
A memorial service is being held at 1404 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803 on Sunday, December 18th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Tina requested that donations be made to New Hope at www.blountkids.org.
