Claudia Denise Elliott Fitzpatrick

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claudia Denise Elliott Fitzpatrick, a true example of unwavering strength, kindness, and love to anyone who is fortunate enough to have known her. She passed away peacefully in her home on May 22, 2026, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on March 5, 1966, in Milton FL, Denise lived a life defined by love, strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a beautiful kindness about her that touched everyone in her life.

Denise was a true pillar of her family. She loved her family deeply and fiercely but above all else her greatest joy in life was being a mother. Her children were the center of her world, and there was nothing she would not do for them. The values she instilled, the sacrifices she made, and the unconditional love she poured into them will continue to guide her children for as long as they may live.

Denise found joy in birdwatching, being in nature, the sound of the ocean, singing silly songs, and spending time with her loved ones. One of her greatest life’s passions was helping those with special needs like her son Carson. She was a strong advocate for these children, as well as a helping hand and listening ear for their families. She was deeply committed to helping them learn and grow. The impact she made on the lives of these children and families is immeasurable and will be remembered for years to come.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Denise was a true fighter. She faced her disease with remarkable resilience, strength, and grace. Even on her most difficult days, her kindness and love never wavered. Let her strength be an inspiration to all for many years to come.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Shawn Fitzpatrick; her children, Eric Fitzpatrick with his fiance Grace Dickey, Carson Fitzpatrick, and Josie Fitzpatrick; her brother, James Elliott with his wife Pamela; and her parents Quinnie “Dock” Elliott, and Sarah “Jo” Elliott. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Hughie Elliott, Claudia Odell Crews Elliott, James “Bunk” Whitfield, and Gwendolyn “MaMa” Lovett Whitfield.

While our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, and steadfast strength. She had a smile that could light up every room she walked into, and made the world a brighter and more compassionate place.

A celebration of life will be held on July 2, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church, 3805 Maloney Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor her memory.
