Donald Frank Durben, 91, of Knoxville, TN passed away on July 21, 2023 peacefully in his home surrounded by family.
He was born in South Bend, IN, attended Perley School, and was an avid swimmer in high school before serving his country in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He married Joella (Sprightly) in 1962 at Rockton Methodist Church.
After moving to Knoxville, TN, he loved to play golf and spend time with his family at Holston Hills Country Club. He and his wife owned Kodak Trade Center, a small grocery store located just outside of Knoxville, TN. In retirement, he and his wife spent many years at their houseboat on Norris Lake, enjoying the time with friends on Dock D. They also spent many winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL.
He is survived by his wife Joella, daughter Heather (Tim) Cuff of Nashville, TN, and son Luke (Melinda) Durben of Murfreesboro, TN. He also had five grandchildren: Ashley Huffaker (1989-2020) of Nashville, TN, Danielle and Alexa Durben of Murfreesboro, TN, and Xander and Fallon Cuff of Nashville, TN.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Holston Hills Country Club, 5200 Holston Hills Rd, Knoxville, TN 37914.
