Dora Biggers

Knoxville, TN – Dora Biggers, formally Dora Hutchings of Baxter, TN passed away Monday the 18th of November at her home.

Born in 1931, Dora lived a life full of love and adventure. A loving mother, devoted grandmother, and good friend to many. Dora loved to cook family meals, bowl with her friends, cheer on her favorite football teams and professional wrestlers, line dance, and listen to country music. She never backed down from a challenge and inspired those who knew her to embrace life more fully.

Dora was preceded in death by her son Rickey, and survived by her sister Dorothy and her children Carol (Harry), Sharon, and Larry (Sandy).

Dora is also survived by her grandchildren Kim, Chris (Heidi), Nina (Steve), Michelle (Mikeal), and Tony (Jennifer) and twenty two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  1. Dear Aunt Dora going to miss you so much. I remember the fun times we have had together the Thanksgivings and Christmas and the deviled eggs because you knew how much Dallas love them. Wish you could have stayed with us longer but you were called home. I will miss you Dodo. With our love forever. Dallas and Ann

  2. I had the pleasure to meet Dora over the last 15 years of her life. my recollection is of a sprite women who lived on coffee, could climb stairs and loved her family. I found her delightful in all ways. Carol is my stepmother and the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree. I’m sorry for all of the family’s loss – but as an outsider – I bet she knows she did a great job in life and was loved. this is the type of woman I read about in history and love.
