Gerald K. Prutsman, 95, of Jacksboro, TN. passed away July 31, 2023, at Lafollette Court, Lafollette, TN. He was born February 23, 1928, at Milford, IL. to Otis Prutsman and Caroline (Buss) Prutsman. He married Lena Mary (Jennings) of Gate City, VA. May 20, 1951. Lena preceded him in death September 4, 2022. They were blessed with 71 wonderful years together. Gerald attended and graduated from Milford Schools. February 23, his senior year High School, he entered the Marine Corp and served in Kodiak, Alaska and Great Lakes, IL. After military, he entered and graduated Bailey Diesel School, St. Louis, MO. April 28, 1950. He retired to Lafollette, TN after a career with Super Value Company at Champaign, IL. During retirement, Gerald and his wife, Lena, were able to travel most of the U.S., including Alaska, Canada, Ireland and several Caribbean Islands. Gerald liked to play cards, travel and visit; he did not know a stranger.
He is preceded in death by 2 young children, Jane Marie and Neal Otis. Also preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell, Everett and one sister, Esther.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Dhom of Oneida, TN and son, Keith (Diana) Prutsman of Jacksboro, TN. Four grandchildren, Neil Day of Charleston, IL. and Eric Day of Pittsburg, PA. Justin Prutsman of Jacksboro, TN and Michelle (Prutsman) Uranga of Sequim, WA. Six great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. He was an active member of Worldwide Church of God for many years and, more recently, Church of God - PKG.
Private family graveside service will take place Friday, August 18, 2023, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford, IL.
Pastor, David Perry will officiate the service.
Burial with Military Honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
