LeRae Brooks, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She faced her illness with remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Spencer. She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Spencer; her husband, Marcus “Brown Sugar” Brooks; her children, Jordan, Alexis, and Justice; and her grandchildren, Truu and Casey. Lerae’s love for her family was boundless, and her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and joy to them.
She loved the color yellow, which suited her perfectly, as she had a way of brightening every room she entered. Known by many titles throughout her life—daughter, wife, mom, and Rae—the role she cherished most was Gram. She had a special love for children and spent much of her life caring for them, including her own grandchildren and the children of friends and family.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. While her absence leaves a great void; may her love, faith, and the light she brought into the world never be dimmed.
A celebration of Lerae’s life will be held on Thursday, April 9, at 6 PM at Redemption Life Church, located at 8109 Sharp Rd., Powell, TN 37849. Guests are encouraged to wear yellow in her honor—a color that reflects the warmth and light she brought into the lives of others.
