Lois Loy (Hickman), of Powell, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2026, at the age of 91.
Lois was born on October 10, 1934, in Wichita, Kansas, to Erve Hickman and Mary (Heigel) Hickman. Throughout her life, she was known for her strength, kindness, devotion to her family, and love of all creatures, especially the many dogs she had throughout her life. She built a life centered on those she loved and treasured the time she spent with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erve Hickman and Mary (Heigel) Hickman; her sister, Lola; her brother, Everett; her husband, Tom Innes; her son, Mark Loy; and her stepson, James Innes.
Lois is lovingly remembered by her children, Joel and Teresa Loy, Lyn Loy, and Eric and Dolynn Loy; her grandchildren, Erica Loy and her spouse, Kristopher Witt, and Christopher Cox; and her great-grandson, Hunter Witt. She is also survived by her stepchildren, David Innes, Mary and Bill Steinborn, and John and Yen Innes; her step-grandchildren, Margaret Eversole and Nate Eversole, Ben Innes and his partner, Kelly Abeln, Deanna Steinborn, Rowan Innes, Lucy Innes, Vy Cunningham and Sam Cunningham, and Viet Quach; and her step-great-grandson, Mac Abeln Innes.
Above all else, Lois cherished her family and found joy in the people she loved most. She will be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and the unwavering love she shared with those around her. Her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched.
The family is grateful for the care and compassion shown to Lois throughout her final days. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
In accordance with Lois’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
