David K. McKinney

David K. McKinney age 58 went to his heavenly home on Monday, January 16, 2017 after a brief illness with cancer. David is a member of Salem Baptist Church in Halls, TN where his memorial service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017. Visitation 5pm-7pm, service to follow with Rev. John Holland (David’s Sunday School Teacher) and Pastor Allen James officiating. David is survived by his wife, soul mate, Ruth Wayland-McKinney, son David McKinney, Jr (Lorri), brother Donald (Butch) McKinney, Gary McKinney (Stacy), Clayton McKinney (Tina) Two step-children, seven grandchildren and an abundance of nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.

Dear Lord, Someone I love just entered your presence. I know being face to face with Jesus is our ultimate Joy, but I already feel a gap in my heart without the presence of the special person on earth. Gary R. Farmer, 69, passed away on February 7, 2017, after a long, painful road of illnesses. He was a quiet man who loved his childhood memories of growing up in Spring Brook, Alcoa. He will be missed but he is now rejoicing in being back with his parents in heaven.

Patricia Ann Evans

Patricia Ann Evans, 81, passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2017, due to a short battle with cancer. She was born on September 19th, 1935 and lived in Youngstown, Ohio most of her life, and she worked at Handelman Company. She then moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1998. Preceded in death by both parents, mother Mary McClelland and father John Carney.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Freeman; granddaughter, Kelly Baker Deal and husband Doug Deal and family; sister and brother in-law, Mary Jane and Jack Hall; niece, Connie Hall Cothern and husband Tom Cothern and family; nephew, Jack Hall and family; nephew, Jim Hall and family; and step-son Ken Evans and family.

Tracey Leigh Campbell

Tracey Leigh Campbell, 55, lifelong Oak Ridger, passed away 3-11-17, surrounded by friends and family after a 4-month bout with cancer.

She was a devout Christian. She loved Vols and Oak Ridge High School sports and attended many games. She was a Roane State graduate, having graduated with honors, and was a 1979 graduate of ORHS. Tracey worked in customer service in the fields of computers and cellphones, most recently with Verizon.

Her parents were Jack Sr. and Mildred Campbell, who predeceased her. Her brother and sister-in-law are Jack and Mary Nell Campbell, and she also leaves several cousins, nephews, two aunts, and an uncle. A special friend is Frederick Thrift.

Service will be on Tuesday, March 21, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Receiving of friends will be from 6 to 7 pm with the memorial service at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to animal shelters are appreciated.

Thomas Lee Bagwell

Born in Harriman, TN on January 16, 1958, Thomas (Tommy Lee) Bagwell (59) went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2017. He is preceded in death by his long-time canine companion, “Wyzer”.  He is survived by his two loving parents, Thomas and Nadine Bagwell of Claxton, Siblings; Tim Bagwell and wife Cindy, Kathy (Bagwell) Bolton and husband Kerry, Nieces and Nephews; Tiffany Patterson, Greg Bagwell, Terica Leach, Alex Trowbridge, Samantha Bagwell and Melanie Bagwell. Tommy Lee was a lover of animals and music.  He graduated from Clinton High School in 1976 with a 4-year scholarship to UT in Music, where he enjoyed playing his trumpet with “The Pride of the Southland Marching Band”.  In the late 80’s he made Winston-Salem, N.C., his home until an injury brought him home to TN where he spent his last two years with family.  His kind heart and gentle spirit will always be missed by all who knew and loved him.

 In memory of Tommy Lee, there will be a private family service. The family asks that those who wish to honor him make a donation to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation” for spinal cord injuries.

Irene Keller

Irene Keller, age 93, died peacefully on April 24, 2017, at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, TN.   She was a long-time resident of Normal, IL.  Irene was born March 30, 1924, in Flint, North Wales, UK, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Singleton Hooson.  She was married to Thomas Harris Williams, with whom she had two daughters.  He preceded her in death in 1950.  In 1954, Irene married Henry George Keller, with whom she had William Ray Keller.  He also preceded Irene in death in 1978. Irene was employed at State Farm in the accounting office for 10 years and at ISU in the Julian Hall Computer Building until she retired in 1996 at age 72.

Irene is survived by daughters Marilyn Williams (Nicholas) Lea and Irene Williams, both of Powell, Tn., son William Ray Keller of Normal, Il and sister, Sarah Platt of Flint, North Wales, UK.  She had four grandchildren, Norman Lea of Knoxville, TN, Dylan (Sally) Keller of Milwaukee, WI, Harris Williams of Knoxville, TN, and Tegan Keller of Glasgow, Mt, and four great-grandchildren: Henry, Natalie, Carly, and Silas.

Irene was a sweet, feisty lady, according to her many friends and co-workers who loved her very much.  Most notably, the Conways, the Lederleitners, the Schenks, the Beaches, and the ISU lunch bunch.  A special thank you to Pam Beach, Connie Barling, and Kim Thompson for visiting while she was in Knoxville, TN.

There will be a memorial service at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 10th, at 11:00 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
