In Loving Memory Of Linda (Dunn) Childress March 16, 1948, to January 30, 2018. Linda, 69, of Dayton, passed away and went to be with our lord and Savior.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Dodd; her son, Andrew Marshall; and daughter, Edna Whitby, Her grandchildren Brandon Whitby, Ashley, Corey and Chris, Mariah, Selena, Heather and April and cousins and Aunts. She is preceded in death by her dad, Arley Dunn, and her Mother, Hazel Hamby, both of Dayton. Her sons are John Marshall and Chris Marshall. Linda was born and raised in Dayton. She will be deeply missed. She was a loving Mom, Sister, and Grandmother. Go fly high, our sweet Angel. Until we meet again.

Hildegard Girard

Hildegard R. Girard “Momma” Hilda Girard, 66, took her final breath to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Girard; her parents, Iona and James Hedlund; her sister, Catherine Hedlund; and her brothers, Arvid and James Hedlund, Jr.

Services will be held on February 24, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Dayspring Church in Knoxville, TN.

Momma was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Joe Goodman

Joe Lynn Goodman, 63 of Lake City, TN, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2018. He was a graduate of Lake City High School Class of 1972. He served in the United States Air Force from 1972-1983 and was a mail carrier for the Unites States Postal Service in Oak Ridge, TN from 1984-2004. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles B Goodman, Sr. and Helen K. White Goodman. He is survived by daughter Lee Ann Carson, husband Kenneth, and granddaughter Shelby, of Heiskell, TN; and daughter Diana Machanoff and husband Zack. Siblings: Patricia LaBonte and husband Louis of Putnam, CT; Dennie Goodman of Clinton, TN; Charles B. Goodman, Jr of Andersonville, TN; Sharon Cox and husband Lynn of Heiskell, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Rocky Top United Methodist Church, 220 4th Street, Rocky Top, TN 37769.

Amanda “Amy” Kidwell

On Sunday, February 25, 2018, Amy left this earthly life at the age of 42.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret Kidwell; father, John L. Kidwell; daughter Makenzie Webb; brother Greg Kidwell, fiancée Eli Pressley, several cousins, and close friends.  A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Nancy K. Hinkle

Nancy K. Hinkle, 56, passed away on February 28, 2018, after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Willie Lightfoot of Benton, TN. Nancy was a nursing instructor at Cleveland State Community College, Pellissippi State Community College, and Tennessee Wesleyan College.  She was also a nurse for Bradley Memorial Hospital and Woods Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Hinkle of Rockford, TN; stepdaughters, Clare and Calle Hinkle; Brother, Ronnie Lightfoot; Special friend and adopted daughter, Amber Patty; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Maryville, TN, at 7 pm, with visitation starting at 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nancy Hinkle Scholarship fund at Tennessee Wesleyan University.

Carla Berry

Carla Marie Lawson Berry passed away on March 13, 2018. She was 54 years of age when she lost her battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, David Berry, and her two sons, Philip Lawson and Justin Strange. Five grandchildren: Cameron Lawson, Haven Lawson, Courtney Glisson, Brandon Terrell, and Hunter Hawkins. Her siblings are Renee and Billy Lawson. Two nephews, Ethan Ferguson and Brandon Lawson, one niece, and two daughters-in-law, Amy Strange and Angelina Lawson. Carla was a kind-hearted and giving soul who loved her family deeply. She tended to put her family’s needs before her own. She loved God and prayed daily for her family and others. She will be deeply missed but it is in everyone’s knowledge that she is now at peace with her brothers, parents, with her son in her arms, with the sunshine beaming on her face as she looks down on her family. Dale Edward Burnette

Dale went to Heaven to be with God, his mother, Wanda Burnette, and his brother David Burnette on May 11th, 2018. He leaves behind Tracy Burnette, his son Devin Burnette, his daughter Hannah Burnette, his father Jack Burnette, and brother and sister in law Tony and Pauline Burnette. He had many family members and friends who loved him.

He will be dearly missed. Thank you for all your love and prayers. The family is having a celebration of life service at Lakewind Church on Tuesday, May 15, from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm, and the burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:45 pm on Wednesday, May 16th.

Louis Howard Schiermeyer

Mr. Louis Howard Schiermeyer, Lou or, as his Army buddies and motorcycle compadres called him, Duke, died peacefully at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 31, 2018. He was 69 years old.

Lou was born on January 25, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is the Son of Angelina and Theodore Schiermeyer. Lou married Mary Elizabeth Adkins, and they raised their son Nicholas most recently in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lou attended Hemet Union High School in Hemet, CA in 1969. Lou enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Combat Veteran in D Troop 101st Calvary in Vietnam. He then worked in construction and helped home school their son.

He had a wide range of hobbies, including photography, motorcycles, reading, music, and concerts over the years. He enjoyed cinema and was an avid reader on a wide range of topics, including U.S. History and the Bible. Lou was known for his passion in life, his sense of humor, and his devotion to those he loved and all he valued.

Lou is survived by his wife, Mary: their son Nicholas, his mom Angie ( Preceded in death of father Ted  )Schiermeyer and his sisters and brothers Charlotte ( James ) Kraai, Theodore “Chris” ( Preceded in death by wife, Donna ) Schiermeyer, Mary ( Calvin ) Campbell, Judy ( James ) Kraushaar, Marc ( Gail ) Schiermeyer, Gail ( Robert )Wilson, and James ( Sandra ) Schiermeyer.

Lou will be buried at 11:30 am on Thursday, June 7, at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy.  Knoxville, Tn 37920. Catherine Ann Ramsey

Catherine Ann Ramsey of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11th at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Charles Connatser; brother, Charles Connatser Jr; son, Dennis Lee Logan; and her husband, Randell Ramsey. Cathy was a wonderful person who was loved by all and she will be truly missed and always cherished.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Dunn and son-in-law Andy Dunn; grandchildren, Tyler and Lindsay Dunn; brother, Eddie Connatser and sister in-law Paula Connatser; niece, Catherine Hallam and great nephews, Phillip and Charles; sister, Mary Hank and nephew, Aaron Prince and niece, Melanie Arms.

We would like to thank all of the staff and Dr. Ali at Davita Dialysis on Cedar Bluff. She truly loved you guys and was thankful for all you did for her. We would also like to thank the Complete Family Care staff, especially Dr. Andrew Surgantharaj, for all their great care. She will be missed, but we know she is no longer suffering, and she will live in our hearts every day.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 25th at 7:00 pm at the Cherokee Dam Campground in Jefferson Co.
