George Stephen “Steve” Cannon a resident of Tellico Plains was 75 at the time of his passing on July 7th 2026. Born on July 14th 1950 in Duluth GA. to Carl David Cannon Sr. and Mary Ruth Cannon, nee. Strickland. During his younger years he loved life, travel and sometimes even a bit of hedonism. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force then was a letter carrier for the USPS in Sweetwater TN. for over 20 years. Steve was an avid sports fan and an accomplished basketball player and was captain of his high school team. He toughly enjoyed golf as he grew older. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Carl “Dave” Cannon Jr.
Steve’s surviving family members are his sons: Stephen “Matt” Cannon and daughter-in-law Julie Cannon, Karl Cannon and daughter-in-law Brandi Cannon, and Shawn Cannon, his younger brother Dan Cannon as well as five grandchildren: Stephenie, Grady, Marley, Lily, and Hazel.
