Louis Howard Schiermeyer

Mr. Louis Howard Schiermeyer, Lou or, as his Army buddies and motorcycle compadres called him, Duke, died peacefully at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 31, 2018. He was 69 years old.

Lou was born on January 25, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is the Son of Angelina and Theodore Schiermeyer. Lou married Mary Elizabeth Adkins, and they raised their son Nicholas most recently in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lou attended Hemet Union High School in Hemet, CA in 1969. Lou enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Combat Veteran in D Troop 101st Calvary in Vietnam. He then worked in construction and helped home school their son.

He had a wide range of hobbies, including photography, motorcycles, reading, music, and concerts over the years. He enjoyed cinema and was an avid reader on a wide range of topics, including U.S. History and the Bible. Lou was known for his passion in life, his sense of humor, and his devotion to those he loved and all he valued.

Lou is survived by his wife, Mary: their son Nicholas, his mom Angie ( Preceded in death of father Ted  )Schiermeyer and his sisters and brothers Charlotte ( James ) Kraai, Theodore “Chris” ( Preceded in death by wife, Donna ) Schiermeyer, Mary ( Calvin ) Campbell, Judy ( James ) Kraushaar, Marc ( Gail ) Schiermeyer, Gail ( Robert )Wilson, and James ( Sandra ) Schiermeyer.

Lou will be buried at 11:30 am on Thursday, June 7, at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy.  Knoxville, Tn 37920. Catherine Ann Ramsey

Catherine Ann Ramsey of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11th at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Charles Connatser; brother, Charles Connatser Jr; son, Dennis Lee Logan; and her husband, Randell Ramsey. Cathy was a wonderful person who was loved by all and she will be truly missed and always cherished.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Dunn and son-in-law Andy Dunn; grandchildren, Tyler and Lindsay Dunn; brother, Eddie Connatser and sister in-law Paula Connatser; niece, Catherine Hallam and great nephews, Phillip and Charles; sister, Mary Hank and nephew, Aaron Prince and niece, Melanie Arms.

We would like to thank all of the staff and Dr. Ali at Davita Dialysis on Cedar Bluff. She truly loved you guys and was thankful for all you did for her. We would also like to thank the Complete Family Care staff, especially Dr. Andrew Surgantharaj, for all their great care. She will be missed, but we know she is no longer suffering, and she will live in our hearts every day.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 25th at 7:00 pm at the Cherokee Dam Campground in Jefferson Co.

Anthony K. McMahan Sr.

Anthony K. McMahan Sr., Born April 19, 1961. Went home to be with his late wife, Vanessa “Cricket”,  son Charles ” Robby,” and his Father, Robert ” Bob” McMahan on July 26, 2018.   Tony was a Loving and caring son, brother, father, and friend.

Anthony is survived by his Mother, Pat Bennett; Brother Gregg McMahan; Sisters Heather McMahan and Kim Nolan; Son Tony Jr.; Daughter Krystal Gueterrez; 10 Grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren,  4 nieces, 4 Nephews, 6 great nephews, and 3 great nieces.

Melvin “Chip” Moyer

Melvin Kenwood Moyer, known to friends as “Chip,” passed away on July 27, 2018, at the age of 72.

Born July 19, 1946, Chip was a native of Cisco, IL. He is the Son of Geraldine Scoles and George Moyer. In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became a Naval Air-Crewman (NAC) Hospital Corpsman serving in the Vietnam War.  Stations included Naval Hospital Bethesda, Marine Air Wing-12, Marine Amphibious Brigade (9th MAB), Marine Air Base Squadron-15 (MAB), and Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital.

In 1969, he married Karen Jean Brace and began his career with Sears, Roebuck and Co. Positions held included: Operations Manager, Kokomo, IN; Assistant Manager, Jacksonville, IL; Operations Manager, Springdale, OH; and District Manager, Southern Ohio. In 1992, after a successful career with Sears, Chip became Store Manager of Furniture Direct and Knoxville Wholesale Furniture Co. of Knoxville, TN.

In 2001, Chip served the  Fellowship Evangelical Free Church of Knoxville, TN, as a Facilities Manager, which was one of the most rewarding jobs participating in local and global mission initiatives including: Habitat for Humanity, Home Repair Team, and building team supporting a church in Mexico.

Chip loved to travel and was very fortunate to experience traveling with family in Botswana, Africa; Zambia, Africa; Vietnam; Japan; Canada and RV’ing the lower 48 states and Alaska. One of his favorite memories was Canada “fly in” fishing trips and RV’ing in Alaska. He always loved to see nature.

Chip was extremely well-liked by his contemporaries. He had a rare knack for getting along with everyone. He was considerate of others, displayed a good sense of humor, and was consistently friendly. Throughout the year’s people consistently commented about how he always was so “optimistic” and had a “positive attitude” even when the going got tuff.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen Brace Moyer of Mishoppen, PA, brother Eugene “Gene” Moyer of Decatur, IL, son Randolph “Randy” Scott Moyer and wife Anne, Leonardtown MD; daughter Heidi Rachquel Moyer Breeden and husband Jason, Maryville, TN; daughter Michele Moyer Royce and husband Jeff, Zambia, Africa; and son Mark Kenwood Moyer and wife Jaime, LaFollette, TN, and 11 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Chip will be held 6:30-7:45 pm, 4 August 2018, at the Fellowship Evangelical Free Church of Knoxville, 8000 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37909.

Kimberly Ann (Kasey) Courtney

Kimberly Ann (Kasey) Courtney went to meet her Lord and Savior on August 15, 2018, after a motorcycle accident.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her Grandparents Thomas and Bernice Courtney, Roy and Vera Ball.

She is survived by her son Tanner Norton, her Fiancé Bill Floyd, parents Mr. and Mrs Ronald Courtney (Bonnie), sister Rhonda Courtney, brothers Michael Courtney, Ron Courtney Jr. & Wife Tina Courtney, Aunt Betty Courtney, Uncle Roy Ball Jr and Wife Darlene, and several nieces and Nephews.

Kimberly was a loving Mother, Daughter, Sister, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Keith Eugene Hoschouer

It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Eugene Hoschouer announces his passing, after a lengthy illness, on Sunday evening, September 16, 2018, at his residence in Clinton, Tennessee.

Keith was born January 31, 1946, to the late Mary Agnes (Ross) Hoschouer and Ernest J. Hoschouer in Rossburg, Ohio. He was raised by his mother and Aunt Esther Ellen Ross until he enlisted in the Army, where he served in the Dominican Republic.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; Aunt Esther; brothers, Forest Dale & Marvin Hoschouer; sisters, Virginia Mae Fields and Janice Lynnette Fields. He has one surviving brother, Loren Duane (Barbara) Hoschouer.

Keith Left behind, to cherish his memory, two sons, Randy Alan and Brian Lee Broomhall; grandchildren, Amy Marie (Broomhall) Hicks and special friend, Joe Campbell, Brandy JoAnn (Broomhall) Vann and fiancé, Mackenzey Longmire, Corey Michael and Kyle Alan (Amie) Broomhall, Nicholas Tyler and Mackenzie Paige Broomhall; great grandchildren, Deana Nichole, Nathan Gage and Bryson Alex Vann, Keirria Marie and Aaliyah Nevaeh Hicks; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held in the future in Greenville, Ohio.

Roger L. Noe, 60, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on October 17, 2018. He was born on November 2, 1957, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and the 844th ENBN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marie Noe; twin brother, Rodney; and sister, Teresa Lytle.

Survivors include brother, Craig (Linda) Noe; sister, Janet (Dan) Myers; numerous nieces and nephews; and fur babies, Sockatees and Ninja.
