Evald “Walter” Ottosen died peacefully at home on 10/6/2020 in Lenoir City, TN, at the age of 85.

Walter is survived by his wife, Anne Marie; son, Kristian and his wife, Melissa; granddaughter, Emily; and three brothers in Denmark.

Walter was born on 4/10/35 in Denmark.  He married Anne Marie in 1967.  After moving to NJ, Walter began working for Mobil Chemical Co. for 35 years.  Over the years, the couple welcomed one son.  Kristian remembers him as a kind and caring father who encouraged him to pursue his goals.

 Walter was accomplished at carpentry and gardening.  He was an active and dedicated member of the church and often volunteered at community events.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am on 10/12/2020 at Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville.  Pastor Elseroad will officiate the ceremony.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Walter’s life.

Charles “Bud” Patterson, 76, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 18, 2020.  He was a talented upholsterer, a storyteller, and a former Marine who loved life, family, and friends and will be sadly missed.   He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Patterson; mother, Mary Patterson; sister, Joyce Shoffner; and brothers, Tom Patterson, Jr., Ray Patterson and Bill Patterson.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Taylor Patterson; daughters, Beth (Kevin) Walters, Angie Moore, and Wanda (Matt) Turpin; grandchildren, Kristen Walters, Alivia (Chris) Duncan, Alex Moore, Jason Moore, Gabriella (Josh) McCracken, Blake Turpin, and Abigail Turpin; great grandchildren, Raelyn Lewis, Christian Duncan, Logan Duncan, Samuel McCracken and Everleigh McCracken; sisters, Wanda Horner and Anna Collins; brother in law, James Horner and sister in law, Frances Patterson, and many nieces, nephews and friends that were considered family.

Carl Alfred Testerman, 83, of Corryton, Tennessee, left his life on earth to be with his heavenly father on 10/26/2020. “He Fought A Good Fight, Finished The Race, And Kept The Faith” (2 Timothy 4: 6-7).

Carl was born in Kyles Ford, Tennessee. Carl was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Alaska and the U.S. He was honorably discharged in 1960 from Westover AFB in Massachusetts. Carl was an owner/partner of Vytron Corporation in Loudon, TN, and was also an owner/partner in Wilman Associates of Knoxville. He was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church for 50 years. He served as Elder, Usher and was on many committees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Testerman; brother, Sidney Testerman; and sister, Maxine Moore.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Judy Steup Testerman for 60 years on November 19; children, Kimberlee Testerman Mabe and husband Larry of Halls, TN, Todd Testerman of Smithville, TN, Tracey Testerman Spencer of Knoxville, Scott Testerman and wife Heather of Powell, TN; His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Alyssa Sweet Pittman and husband Brad of Durham, North Carolina, Cameron Mabe of Mt. Juliet, TN, Austin Sweet and daughter Violet (great granddaughter) of Spring Hill, TN, Hadley and Kylee Testerman of Powell, TN; Sisters, Wertia Ely of Morristown, TN, Anna Davis and husband James of Knoxville, TN; sister in-law, Clara Testerman of Rogersville, TN; Close friends, Tony and Bert Richards of Fort Myers , FL  and Bill and Audrey Martin of Cumming, GA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving friends.

Carl had a wonderful, full life, spending many summers with his family on Cape Cod in Chatham, Massachusetts. He traveled all through the United States and Canada. Over the years, he loved to cruise the Caribbean, Central America, and the Panama Canal with his wife, family, and friends.

The family will have the funeral service at First Lutheran Church (1207 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN) on 11/05/2020 at 11:00 am.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery on John Sevier Highway.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Carl’s memory to First Lutheran Church, 1207 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN, and Covenant Hospice of Knoxville. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Covenant Hospice, Tina, Maggie, Lisa, Toni, Cindy, Rocky, Chaplain Herb, Laversia from the VA, and many others. They became family to all of us, and we couldn’t have made this journey without them. May God bless them for the work they do. They truly were a blessing to us. Thank you all again.

Connie Marie Wiles-Austin went to meet her Lord and Savior on October 10, 2020.

She died peacefully with her children by her side.

Connie was born on February 26, 1965, in Austin, MN, to David and Rosemarie Ludvigsen.

She attended the Mayo Clinic School of Health Related Sciences in Rochester, MN where she got her degree as a radiological technician.  Connie moved down to Knoxville, TN, and worked at the University of Tennessee Hospital.

She is the mother of four children.  Katherine, David Jon, Colin, and Alesha.  She was a loving and caring mom. She was strong in her faith and was a member of the Christus Victor Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her parents; her brother Joel Ludvigsen; her sister-in-law Laurence and three nephews, Oscar, Leopold, and Raphael of Brussels, Belgium; uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Connie always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.  We will miss her very much.

Daane Lee Troyer, 69, of Corryton, TN, passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2020. He was born to Eugene R. and June D. Troyer in Chicago, Illinois, on August 9th, 1951. The family moved to Antioch, Illinois, in his early childhood, and he graduated from Antioch Community High School in 1969. Daane joined the U.S. Navy in 1972 and was in the first class of the Flying Limited Duty Officers (LDO) of the Navy in 1981. He retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1993. After that, he worked at the Kauai Coffee Company in Kauai, HI, for 6 years as a coffee bean tester. He then moved back to Antioch, IL, and became the IT Manager for Onsrud Cutter LP, Libertyville, IL. He was currently retired and living in Corryton, TN with his wife of 20 years, Jody, and their dog Duke.

Daane is survived by his wife Jody Troyer; son Eugene (Lorraine) Troyer; daughter Brandy (Dayton) Kealoha; Stepson Josh (Kristina) Kirkpatrick; and stepdaughter Meaghan Kirkpatrick. He has a total of 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Daane was preceded in death by his former wife, Loretta J. Troyer, his parents, his sister, Laura A Troyer, and his brother, Timothy J. Troyer.

Daane loved country music and western movies, his favorite actor was John Wayne. He and Jody would regularly attend county music festivals across the Midwest and loved to go country dancing anytime they could. Daane had a heart of gold and would do anything he could to help people around him. He was a person of ‘little words, ‘ but when he did speak, his ‘little words’ were like heaven.

Todd Ronald Lay, 59, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on 11/5/2020 at Parkwest Medical Center.

Todd was of the Baptist faith, a retiree from the City of Knoxville after 33 years of service, a Bearden High School Class of 1980 graduate, an avid University of Tennessee Athletics and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Todd is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Lay and Virginia (Ginny) Smith Lay; sister, Kimberly R Grubb; nephew, Mikel G Grubb; and niece, Kimberli Erin Cress.

Todd is survived by his daughter, Heather Housley, and son-in-law, Nathaniel; sisters, Gina Lay (Gary Cress) and DeAnna Lay; nephew, Nicholas Todd Grubb (Elisha); great niece, Dorothy Kimberly Grubb; along several lifelong friends from the Rocky Hill and Bearden communities.

A Big Orange Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Wayne E Howey Sr., 73, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.

He worked at Kroger for over 50 years. Wayne was the hardest working man and was loved by all who knew him.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice Howey; sisters, Beverly and Donna; brothers, Keith, Lloyd, Larry, Dale; and grandchildren, Chanda and Little Ricky.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Brenda Howey; daughters, Lisa Kay and Bobby Miller, Theresa Lynn and Bobby Everett, Tracey Jane and Mikey Bailey, Lori Lynn  Sherrod, Brandi Marie and Nathan Gilliam; sons, Terry Wayne and Rhonda Howey, Kerry Eugene and Bev Howey, Kevin Gene and Missie Howey, Wayne Eugene Jr and Khristina Howey; brother, Bobby and Brenda Howey of Muncey, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, Ashley, Rusty, Justin, Brooke, Kelsey, Kara, Greg, Casey, Jade, Peyton, Savannah, Brianna, Emily, Connor, Zane, and Liam; 12 great grandchildren, Bryson, Baylee, Nia, Dawson, Colton, Addisyn, Harrison, Aubreigh, Elijah, Graycen, Eston, Olivia Grace; sister in-law, Sheri and John Turner and their son Jake.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice Team, especially Christy Craft, Angie Jones, and Clay Mulford; they truly appreciate all the love and support they have been given.

Betty Edsell, 77, of Knoxville, passed away at her home on November 4, 2020. She was a loving wife, amazing mother to her children, a wonderful Nana, and she was known by all for her good cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Nannie Bates, and son, Jeff Edsell.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ronald Edsell; daughter, Kristi Edsell and granddaughter, Krickett Jones; daughter, Lisa and husband Jim French; and grandsons, Jeremy Cooper and Cody French.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life.

Lowell H. Farmer, 79, finished his earthly journey and headed to his Heavenly Home on December 2, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  Chester and Lillian (Clarkson) Farmer. 

Survivors include his wife of 61 years,  Dorothy Farmer; daughter, Melinda (Bobby) Bryant; son, Curtis (Robin) Farmer.  5 grandchildren, Megan McCloud (Dewayne Shiverdecker), Ashley Hensley, Brandon and Zachary Farmer, Micayla Bounds.  5 Great- Grandchildren, Blakely Shiverdecker,  Jailyn and Braxton Hensley, Caleb and Abrianna Farmer, and many more extended family.

No services are scheduled at this time.  There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alice Bell Baptist Church.

Danny Ray Parham, 74, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at UT Medical Center on December 23, 2020, with his family by his side.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ruby Parham, and brothers Fane Parham and Dale Parham.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Beverly Parham; daughter Jennifer and husband Andy Macdonald of Nashville, TN; daughter Jessica and husband Chris Downs of Knoxville; grandchildren Luke and Lily Macdonald, Dani and Dean Downs.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dan’s memory to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or The American Heart Association.

Mary Jane Minch, 91, passed away on New Year’s Day from this life to enter her eternal home in heaven.

 Mrs. Minch was a resident at Meadow View Senior Living in Clinton, TN. Mary Jane was born on 3/25/1929 in Dayton, Ohio. Mrs. Minch was employed as a bookkeeper for a law firm in Xenia, Ohio. Mary Jane was an active member in the Fraternal Order of Eagles and past State President of Ohio. Mrs. Minch relocated to Tennessee in 2013.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, and her son, Stephen.

Mary Jane is survived by sons, Timothy (Robin) Minch and Richard Minch; grandchildren: Nathan (Christie) Minch, sons Sawyer and Wyatt, Nicholas Minch, Angela (David) Ireton, daughters Lily and Grace, Jennifer (David) Klopfer, son Benjamin; Arianne (Travis) Groski.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation is planned. No services will take place at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. The family extends their appreciation to the entire staff at Meadow-View Senior Living and UT Hospice.

Trina Owens Bell, 66, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2021, at her son’s home in Knoxville, TN.

She was a previous owner of J&M Parts Delivery in Norton, VA, and she was an active Lady Shrine of the Jericho Temple in Kingsport, TN.

Trina was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bell; father, James “Red” Owens; and brothers, Ernie, Sam, and David Owens.

Survivors include her mother, Effie Owens; son, James (Kim) Stratton; daughter, Mary Sibiski; 3 precious grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah, and Justin; dear friend, Carla Kincer; and several granddogs.

There will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Greenville Shriner Hospital in Greenville, SC, in her memory.
